  • Paul keeps giving back to the community

At the time of Paul's death I was the club Treasurer. The club decided to do a fund raiser to do something in Paul's honor. Part of the fund raiser was selling t-shirts with a graphic of Paul driving his Sprite. In addition to the t-shirts that were pre-ordered the club purchased extras to sell at events. When it was all over there were a number of shirts left over. Since I had purchased the shirts, I ended up with the extras, which followed me from Minnesota to Texas. So, what does that have to do with anything?

A couple days ago, my daughter, who's a physician working at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio called and said the hospital had run out of masks and asked if my wife could sew some using a pattern that the CDC had on-line. Sure, but what to use for material? You guessed it - the leftover Paul t-shirts. Very nice double-knit material.

    In your memory Paul, thanks!

Paul would love this I am sure Both because something in his name is still helping people and for the humor in the fact you are having to "breathe him" now ! I can see him getting a huge kick out of that part! Thanks for sharing!

Hey Dave! Good to see you.

Great use of those shirts - I think I took that photo, been a while now and can't find the original.

This was the same event where you shot the two photos to which I referred when I was babbling-on-autopilot at Paul's memorial service.

There was a shot on that run similar to the T-shirt shot, but the T-shirt shot was from another run with a different rider. And, yeah, Paul hit the same cone on that run, too.

Who was the rider in the T-shirt shot? maybe someone will recognize this person:

I'd rock one of those with pride.

All you flickr experts out there, I want to use an image of Paul in my updated novice school program. I'm having a heck of a time getting google slides to accept the flickr link/image. Anyone know how I might do this? I'd love to use the link above of Paul, Phil, and the crunched cone, but can't get it from flickr to g.slides in a format they both can agree on. HELP!!

I'm not familiar with g.slides or flickr but it looks like I have the appropriate permissions to download those shared photos. There's a little arrow symbol in the very bottom right of the screen to download an image. From there you can set the format to what you need it and re-upload it to g.slides. If g.slides doesn't accept uploads you could upload it to a private imgur posting and reference that URL.

                        Just a guess, good luck!

You probably have already covered this, but remember that you need the approval of Jess to post the shot of Paul and me.

Sidebar: There are shots on my Flickr site (of other folks) taken by Jess with my camera. They are identified, and he owns the copyright on those.
