  • Pictures from Automobile Club de Nice Cote D'Azur

So, I wasn't at M6 or 7 because I was off vacationing in France. As blind luck would have it, the Automobile Club in Nice was showing off a bunch of cars in the middle of the city one morning, as I was returning to the hotel from shooting pictures at the beach at sunrise. Just happened across it, and my wife very patiently told me to have fun grabbing pictures. She's the best.

Unfortunately, I don't speak French well enough to have inquired about the cars, but what I gathered was that they were meeting up before going on a club drive, and that many of the vehicles were old rally cars. Really cool, and stuff you don't see around here. Lots of British and Italian cars, too. For examples:

A couple of them I have no clue as to what they are. If anybody knows, feel free to let me know.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing! I love cool cars that were actually used for motorsport rather than sitting shiny in a garage.

Great pictures by the way. Isn't it brilliant when you just fall over these kinds of gatherings ?

The back of the car looks like it agrees with your assessment.

It was a great thing to just happen across the gathering. There were only a couple cars and the banners when we found it, and cool car after car kept pulling in.

Wow! I got a message from the President of the Nice Automobile Club, who found my pictures. This wasn't just a show and a club drive, this was the start of their annual event, the Rallye Jean Behra Historique, two and a half days, over 680 km, 200 km of time-distance stages. All those cars went on to run in it.

Few more pictures in each link. Cool stuff.
