    GRM had an article about getting specialty insurance for cars which are primarily used for motorsport. They mentioned a couple different insurance companies as offering cost-effective coverage for these sorts of vehicles. Before I start calling around, I am wondering:

    Are tires that are 3/4" wider something to consider for DD?
    I'm looking at 205/55 versus 225/50 on 16"X6.5" rims for my all-purpose DD and occasional autox.

    I like the idea of a wider contact patch and I know wider will fit under the car. But am I affecting the profile shape and contact patch beyond benefit by mounting it on a rim 0.5"...

    These came with a car I just bought and I don't need them/don't have the space for them.

    4x100 bolt pattern
    +42 offset
    In great shape with no bends/rash.

    205/50-15 Bridgestone RE71R
    80-90 runs on them according to the previous...
